Prodi: “I bet that there will be a truce in Ukraine by mid-October”

"We have not even talked with different people while maintaining our principles. I spoke with Gaddafi knowing that he was a dictator but also knowing what would happen later in Libya. Trump only speaks with the leaders of the wolf pack . He speaks with Putin , he speaks with Saudi Arabia, he does not speak with Netanyahu because he keeps him under him. Trump's world is a world of absolute leaders". Romano Prodi said this while speaking at the Festival of Economics in Trento.

Regarding the conflict in Ukraine , Prodi explained: "I bet that by mid-October there will be a truce in Ukraine. The unpredictable Trump needs, for his internal reasons, where everything is going badly, to build peace which then becomes a truce like Korea. I don't know what kind of truce will come but the hope is that it will last in the future".

The professor also spoke about the new Pontiff: "I expect that the Pope will become a point of reference because he has made himself available. I think that due to his characteristics he will be a very strong point of reference in the future. He will absolutely not be a Pope who distances himself from the previous one. His word will be unity".
